Roles and Permissions for Benefits Administration

A list and description of the Roles & Permissions needed to access and configure benefits.

OVERVIEW

Benefits are managed in two locations in Namely - within the Plan Setup Assistant and Enrollment Setup in Namely Payroll. The chart below outlines the use cases for each application, and this article details how to provide access to both areas of Ben Admin.

ENROLLMENT SETUP ACCESS

For Enrollment Setup you will need at least one of the following Payroll User Roles assigned to the employee in Namely Payroll:

  • Enroll Only: Allows admins to approve and review benefits portion of the site

  • Payroll & Timesheets & Enroll: Allows admins to approve and review payroll, benefits, and timesheets

  • Payroll & Timesheets & Remote Link & Enroll: Allows admins to approve and review payroll, benefits, and timesheets

  • Payroll Only - Non Approver: Allows full admin access

TIP:

Roles can be accessed by navigating to Namely Payroll > Company > Users. Click Edit next to the applicable user to assign their role - or Add if they do not yet have administrative access to Namely Payroll.
 

PLAN SETUP ASSISTANT ACCESS

For Plan Setup Assistant you will need at least one of the following permissions assigned to the user's Access Role in HRIS:

  • Benefits Setup: Allows user to access the Ben Admin portal via the Manage Benefits option on the homepage springboard.

  • Access Benefits admin: Grants the user to Manage Benefits on the homepage springboard. The user will also need a user role with proper permission in your Payroll site.
